Here at Vista Hills Animal Hospital, we truly believe in regular examinations. They are absolutely necessary to maintain good health throughout your pet’s lives. They allow veterinarians to look over your pets really well and evaluate their health.
During routine examinations, our veterinarians do a thorough check-up. This is also a time to ensure your pets are up to date with vaccinations and any other preventative care necessary for good health. Your pets might require heartworm prevention, deworming, or flea, and tick treatments while you are at our hospital.
Our surgical team is dedicated to the care of their patients. We are constantly learning new things to give our patients the highest quality medicine the veterinary world has to offer. We are always looking for new ways to treat patients with less anesthesia and surgical time.
We will also make sure you, as an owner, understand the procedures your pets are going through. We will talk you through the whole process and answer any questions you may have. We will do our best to keep you informed about your pets the entire time they are in our hands.
Dental disease is one of the most overlooked diseases in pets even though it is very prevalent and dangerous. If left untreated, the disease can travel through the bloodstream. This causes many problems, including heart, liver, and kidney disease.
Good dental care also requires routine examinations by a veterinarian. Veterinarians can catch dental disease early, help you figure out if there is more you can do, and even recommend a professional dental cleaning if the disease is really bad. Professional dental cleanings under anesthesia are the very best way to stop dental disease. We clean your pet’s teeth as your dentist does clean yours.
Laser surgery uses a beam of a certain wavelength of light to cut tissue instead of using a scalpel blade. Because our surgeons are highly skilled, they can control the amount of light used, which gives them extreme surgical precision.
Many owners wonder why laser surgery is a good idea. There are many benefits. Patients suffer from less pain after surgery. There is less bleeding during surgery, which means fewer complications. The risk of infection is reduced when a laser is used instead of a scalpel.
We are very proud of our laboratory. We are able to perform many diagnostic tests quickly and efficiently in it. We can do many simple tests but are also able to offer some more complex ones, too! We are able to run heartworm tests, leukemia and FIV tests, and full blood work for those who are interested in it. There are also many other tests we offer to our patients.
We are always learning new and better ways to treat our patients. We also are dedicated to using the latest veterinary technologies. One way we do this is by providing cold laser therapy for our patients.
Cold laser therapy is a state-of-the-art alternative therapy to assist with pain and healing. It can be used after surgeries to help increase blood flow to local areas, improving healing. For this same reason, it is also helpful for wound healing. Cold laser therapy can also be used for chronic pain, helping to increase blood flow to those areas. We have also seen great success in using this therapy for patients with kidney failure.
Here at Vista Hills Animal Hospital, we are firm believers in preventative care when it comes to keeping pets healthy. This includes keeping your pets up to date on their vaccinations.
Vaccinations are made to protect pets from potentially harmful and sometimes deadly diseases. It is amazing that simple vaccinations can keep our pets healthy and disease-free!
Digital radiology offers our patients the very highest quality when it comes to images. It is also quick. Many times, you can see the images just a few seconds after we take them. This saves us a lot of time and frustration, especially with pets who don’t want their pictures taken.
We often recommend radiographs when your pets are not feeling well. Digital radiology gives us a sharp image of the inside of your pet’s bodies. Exploratory surgery or other invasive measures are not needed.
We are proud to offer ultrasound because it is a quick and painless procedure. Ultrasounds are often better than radiographs because they do not give off any harmful radiation.
Many veterinary hospitals do not have the use of an ultrasound, so they have to rely on radiographs to diagnose their patients. Luckily for us, we are excited to be able to offer ultrasounds to our patients. It is always our goal to offer you the very best care and diagnostic tools so we can help your pets feel better, faster.
We are very proud of our boarding facilities and the care we offer our patients. It is our goal to provide the very highest quality care to our patients. We understand that pets thrive on routine. Our groomers are simply the best. They are very well trained and used to working with a variety of breeds and species. They are trained to know and groom to all of the different breed standards. That being said, they will work with any special requests so you can be proud of your pets when they are finished.
Grooming is scheduled by appointment, so our groomers have the time to do their best. We work hard to schedule convenient appointments without rushing our groomers. We want all pets to leave looking their very best. We also don’t want to waste our clients’ precious time by making them wait.
Our daycare is the perfect solution to your busy schedule.
